If you’ve found your way to this website the chances are you’ve either read the book You is for Unique or have heard about it from a friend and want to know more.

Well, for the moment dear reader, I’m going to pretend you know nothing about the book and haven’t read it, and are merely curious. 

Quite simply, You is for Unique is a journey exploring the uniqueness of each and every woman.  And it embraces the challenges we all face as we journey along the path we have chosen and how they make us feel about ourselves and those around us.  There are stereotypes we see wherever we look, which we feel perhaps we don’t live up to or don’t quite match that image of perfection we assume we need to be.

And we do all feel the same.  I talked to real women throughout the world, via the internet, by telephone, in face to face conversations and by email and realised that it doesn’t matter where we are born, how old we are, what colour our skin is, what size we are, what shape we are or what spiritual journey we are taking, our personal self worth and physical self esteem are directly tied up with what we believe other people think of us. And if we feel we don’t shape up to the standard set by some outside rule we feel undervalued, and we undervalue ourselves as a result.
But we don’t have to feel like that. 

Written to give voice to real women’s feelings about their own body image and self-esteem issues, You is for Unique will take you on a journey through womanhood, from the womb to the wisdom of old age, seen through eighteen beautiful women’s eyes.  It is a journey of laughter, of joy, of tears, of sadness, of bravery and of triumph. At the end of the book it is my hope that you will view yourself and indeed everyone you see on the street through new eyes.  Eyes which will see the beauty in everyone and not the stereotype or what you’ve been conditioned to think, and more especially you will see the beauty in yourself as someone who is already perfect, just the way you are, and you will love yourself just that little bit more.

You are unique and yet, you are not alone.  And most of all, you are beautiful.
